History
flyion was founded in 2001 as a spin-off of the Institute of Physiology at the University of Tübingen. The first product that the company launched onto the market was the Flyscreen® 8500, which appeared in 2003 and was already based on the innovative Flip-the-Tip™ technology. The fully-automated, robot-controlled solution facilitates a high test throughput and low consumables costs.
In 2006, flyion unveiled the PatchBox™, the semi-automated version of its product. The PatchBox™ uses the same technology and is a low-cost, robust and easy-to-use alternative to the highly resource-intensive, manual patch clamp method.
In 2011, flyion introduces the next generation automated patch clamp instrument - the f11™ which is manufactured in an ISO certified production environment.
flyion holds numerous patents for the automated patch clamp method. flyion's products are used by prestigious companies all over the world.
