A modular array of independent recording tips gives you maximum flexibility and speed. The tips are completely independent,
electrically separated and shielded. Electrical crosstalk between adjacent tips is excluded. Waste of costly consumables is
avoided.
The fully automated patch clamp robot combines tip and liquid handling, pressure manipulation and amplifier electronics in
a versatile desktop device. The core of the machine holds a number of receptacles for glass tips in an array. Tips are embedded
in a molded plastic jacket that facilitates tip handling. The embedded tips are placed and filled with cell suspension by the
robot. Seals and whole cell preparations are automatically achieved, and recordings are independently started at each position.
The robot replaces tips until every single unit supplies stable recordings from a working whole cell preparation. Control
current is taken followed by the addition of compounds and, if desired, wash-out. The whole process is software controlled
and fully automated. The operator only needs to replace compound MTPs, recording tip racks and cell suspension at given
intervals.
